CAN I SEND YOU A CHRISTMAS CARD?

dang i haven't updated in almost a week. that's a record.

well, right now is 10:56 pm. i came back home 30 minutes ago from my last tutor session.
wednesday is the busiest day of the week.

(there are more designs than this, but i mailed most of them :I)

last night, i stayed up til 3 am making the rest of my christmas cards (~13 of them). i woke up at 8:30 am. why? because i was at my aunt's and that is when they wake me up for breakfast.

i did not know that sending express mail costs so much. never again...
i'm actually making my mom a video-card for christmas. i recorded everything, from waking up, to eating, to getting ready, to walking to the subway station, to waiting for the subway, to riding, to tutoring... blah blah blah pretty much everything (because she's always curious about my daily routine). i hope it turns out well. my goal is to make her cry. :)

*edit* it's 3:53 am and i'm DONE! you can watch it if you want, but it's almost 13 minutes... *

i was going to write this entry tomorrow since i am free til 6 pm, but i realized i have lots to do. i haven't felt this busy and chaotic since finals.

i ran so much today.
meaning... i was late to 2 out of 3 tutor sessions (one of them got cancelled, thank the Lord. i cannot imagine what would have happened if it wasn't....) i fell asleep on every subway/bus ride i've been on today, and i am sooo sleepy right now, and i don't know why i'm writing about this because no one cares, including me.

ohh right, i FINALLY watched harry potter #7 on sunday! i liked it. i mean... people always hype movies up for me and i end up not being as enthused as i hope i'd be, but i liked this one because it was different. i liked that they were constantly on the run. but ok, what was up with the SUPER DUPER awkward dancing scene between harry and hermione. sorry if i ruined it for you, but that was totally unnecessary and awks. so was the horcrux-part-if-you-know-what-i-mean.

ok highlight of the week for sure:
so there's this.... guy. he works for my uncle. and before coming to korea, he'd helped me tremendously by translating my resume, fixing my stupid gateway (before i got this macbook) because he's a techy, giving me the 411 on life in korea, looking for job opportunities for me, giving me the numbers to korean detectives/police officers (he used to be one).... blah blah. (if you look at my first entry and read about the "fob oppa," that's him.)
usually, when you help a stranger out, even if it's your boss' niece, you don't go "miles" out of your way to help him/her out... right? well he did. and if i went into it, it would take up like... 3 more blog entries.
pretty much, he's been randomly emailing me ever since i first asked him (only) to translate my resume into korean, and indirectly implying something/complimenting me for who-knows-what reasons.
anyway, so about 3 weeks ago, he emailed me with this:

"hi sarah,
how have you been lately? i haven't heard from you for a while(am i right this time? i was the one sent the last email, huh? haha)
i've been hearing, listening, reading about northkorea things these days and i was wondering if you are feeling okay from all those(probably) shocking news.
so, iffy you shocked or feel insecure(since you are non-violence girl who can watch only 'mild action'..), i'd like to say it happens almost every year including same many casualties.
even though north korea people always promise 'punishment', 'cruel revenge', they normally stop after one action. so, dont worry too much if you do.
you'll see people in korea going to get over it soon like it never happened. it's kind of sad that people keep forgetting someone's sacrifice but also it's the fate of the nation.
okay, i think i'm going too far. all i was going to say to you were 'dont worry too much' and 'CAN I SEND YOU A CHRISTMAS CARD?'
(im just going to send an actual christmas card for everyone this year, im swear im not a stalker haha.)
i heard the first snow is coming. keep yourself from getting a cold : )  bye-"

... i don't remember telling him i'm a "non-violence girl" but anyway...
"christmas card" -- ok sure. why not. so i sent him my address.

yesterday, i came into my building, and the ahjushi gave me THIS:
a relatively big, heavy box that costed $47.25 to mail.
ahjushi: is it from your grandma???
(ever since he met my grandma during chuseok, she's all he mentions to me...)
(my grandma's 88.)

a freaking hello kitty box. (i also don't remember telling him i love hello kitty...)
(it looks paper mache-ed... i'm not sure if he made it or not...)

the most random stuff in a care package i've ever received/seen HAHA

what's in the box?
1. reader's digest / 2. red truck pez candy/ 3. (nasty-looking) hair ties/ 4. toothbrush holders/ 5. huge raisins in a plastic harddrive pouch/ 6. a tiny car-racing game from the 90's/ 7. a small bottle of sprinkles/ 8. pistachios/ 9. chinese crackers/ 10. green tea/ 11. dayquil pills in another plastic harddrive pouch/ 12. jelly beans/ 13. half an opened bag of marshmallows (hilarious)/ 14. kool-aid fizz tablets/ 15. popcorn/ 16. hello kitty bandaids (most useful)/ 17. kitkat bar/ 18. christmas card

[i think he got 70% of these from his cupboard... hahahaha]

i was so shocked i didn't know whether to laugh or feel disgusted. if this 30-year-old likes me, i..... don't know what i'm going to do. he barely knows me!!!

*conversation when he came down to SD (that's another story)*
me: ohh so how old was your ex-girlfriend?
him: mmm.... 25? 26? i don't remember
me: how do you not remember your ex-girlfriend's age??
him: age does not matter to me
me: ohh... ha...ha...

coool.........

[UPDATE] he emailed me back after i said the following:

_______!!
i received your package. you are too kind. you didn't make the hello kitty box, did you?!?
anyway, the things you included are soooo random hahaha i think the funniest thing was the little bottle of sprinkles. i don't know what i'll do with that... maybe sprinkle it in my rice? my kimchijjigae? hahaha just kidding

thank you, though. it was way more than i expected. i thought you were just sending me a card! hahaha
honestly, the weather isn't that bad. but i heard it's going to be -10 deg celsius on christmas eve. i'm scared.

korea is treating me very well. i have 7 tutor students, 4 of which are businessmen. at first, i was really scared to teach ahjushis, but after the first day, i realized i have control. they respect me very well, even though i look like i'm 15. i'm finally starting to save money so i'm happy.

well, hope you have a wonderful christmas and new years! thanks once again!

sarah

whoa, that's fast. i thought it will delivered after christmas.
yeah, i have to admit the items are so random. im sure you realized some cookies (i wish they were cookies...) are opened but im swear i didnt eat them. well, i ate them after sent it but they are not 'left over'. i had to shrink them to put those all in a small box. (i threw away the marshmallows...) for your more information, i've seen for some people born and grown up in different places(like you), products in korea dont work for them. so there are some dayquills. i remember you dont drink coffee because it works too much for you so i got that decaf greentea. omg i really don't remember telling him these things. he has freaking good memory. a pack of hairbands is from my personal experience(i had very long long hair once before) UHHHH HAHAHA. my hair bands always disappeared to nowhere and it was so annoying to go out for buying only them especially the weather is cold like these days. and please, have a fun with small video game device. i wanted to play that so bad but i sent it to you. still hurts me, you should be mine video game device... mm.... "be mine video game" uhh... hopefully a typo... (and i think i threw that away too.. oops)

and.. the box. i didnt want to tell you because it might get you scared if someone done something that deep but seeming you like or want to keep that box, here's some tips.
i made the box omg he's crazy (and good) and it's made by paper as you can see. used water based glue so you dont want to keep it in somewhere humid. i know there's some little black or red fibers on kitty's face but as it made by water based glue, if you try to get rid of the tiny fibers, you'll met 80years old wrinkled hello kitty all sudden. but it doesnt mean you have to isolate the box from everything in case it gets wet. even it was water based, i used glue 3times on each side. so it wont get ugly easily. iffy something happen to the box i can get you another one so dont spend your time to keep the box safe.
anyway, im glad you got the package safe and on time.
stay warm, keep have wonderful days in korea. i wish your merry christmas and congratulation to becoming "16"years old soon. haha.
*signed his name*

FREAK i'm in danger.
